Danielle Laraque is a womenswear designer who founded her label in May of 2021. She thoughtfully designs her ready-to-wear collections alongside Creative Director, Alani Noëlle, which are then handcrafted in New York City’s Garment District. Inspired by her Mother’s love for fashion and travel, LARAQUE (luh-rack) was born when Danielle was just five years old. She grew up sketching and hand sewing her creations into small off-shoulder tops and mini skirts, dedicating her formative years to her early talent and deep passion.It feels euphoric and almost surreal seeing her creations adorning women who were once her inspiration. Playing dress up was a huge form of self-expression for Danielle, allowing her to experiment not only with clothing, but also identity. Laraque encourages all individuals to discover what resonates with them and how they want to present themselves to the world, regardless of the social norms that can sometimes conflict with self-expression. It is a beautiful way to learn about your preferences and how to express yourself authentically.
